Richard
Sitruk was managing director and then the Director
of External Relations & Major Events at ETIS (e-
and telecommunications information services) located
in Brussels (Belgium until December 2003). He has held
these positions since 1993. He was previously managing
ETIS’ central office. Richard is a professional
IT executive with broad technical and management experience
across several industry sectors, essentially in the
Telecommunications industry. He holds a degree in Mathematics
and a Masters of Computer Science from the University
of Paris in France. He is a French national with multi-company
(both European and American) experience in the development
and management of large projects. He has been involved
in the re-engineering of business and organisation processes,
involving the implementation of new Information Technologies.
He has held several positions within ITT France, Alcatel
and Digital Equipment.
Richard was highly involved in standardisation bodies
such as ETSI and organisations like the ITU-T. He is
the, vice-chairman of CEN/ISSS EC workshop, member of
OMG, TMF,TOG,GBA, of a new created executive committee
. Richard is currently involved in 2 major EC funded
projects dedicated to Web Services and security issues.
He is the organiser and the chair of global conferences
dedicated to CRM and IT in general.
He is a recognised expert on Telecommunication, IT,
and educational matters by the EC. He has been and continue
to be involved in many key European funded projects,
dedicated to Telecommunication, IT, educations and e-learning
programs.
He also gives lectures to MBA students in a Dutch university
on topics like CRM and New Business models in the Telecom
industry. He recently published the “ETIS 2002
strategic report: The CIO perspective ”.
Richard is given another direction to his career and
is in the move to join telecom and IT organisations
in the area of Sophia Antipolis, the so-called European
“Silicon Valley”. He is also a senior advisor
to the EMF (European Multimedia Forum).
Richard has the challenge and the privilege of being
the father of 5 great daughters.
